David Hayes - Guitarist

 

   

Much in demand and an experienced performer, David has built a reputation as an accomplished and professional player at weddings and corporate events throughout the south west. As well as many satisfied wedding clients, other recent clients include the Cornish conservative club, The Royal Liverpool regiment and the prestigious Budock Vean hotel in Falmouth where he is resident guitarist.

  

David will work with clients to provide a lively set, a more romantic classically based set, a large selection of popular classics, or a mixture of all of these. He is very flexible, will perform requests, and will learn any particular piece of music - often for the Bride’s arrival or during the signing of the register at wedding ceremonies.

  

David started playing guitar at aged 14, going on to perform his own material in an acoustic duo where he gained valuable experience playing and singing around the London folk clubs. He became fascinated with the classical and flamenco style and, inspired by the maestro Segovia, devoted many years to studying the technique. After taking encouragement and advice from the renowned Spanish guitar centre in London, he became resident guitarist at Piaf restaurant in Wimbledon village. A move to Cornwall followed, where he began successfully performing at weddings and corporate events. Drawing on his vast experience, he also gives private tuition on the guitar.

  • I use a high quality portable battery powered amp if required to play outside, or if no mains power is accessible.
